Md Golam Sarwer
Golam is currently working in the molecular genomics lab at Narrandera Fisheries Centre (NFC) to assist in building the molecular genetics capacity of NSW DPIRD, particularly for species-specific Environmental DNA (eDNA) analysis and metabarcoding and developing protocols to ensure delivery of high industrial rigour. He has >10 years’ work experience in a broad array of high-complexity fish molecular microbiology/genetic labs at NSW DPIRD, KIMR and WSU in Australia and also accredited Fish Inspection and Quality Control (FIQC) lab in the Bangladesh Government through collaborations with EU, UNIDO, and NORAD. His expertise includes developing QMS and WHS/LIMS facilities, QA/QC issues based on NATA/ISO standards, R&D projects lead with demonstrating teamwork and staff training. His academic background includes a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Fisheries Biotechnology from Western Sydney University (WSU) and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Aquaculture from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU).
