Haylo Roberts
Haylo Roberts is a molecular biologist working in utilising environmental DNA (eDNA) in biosecurity, agricultural, and conservation projects. Haylo recently completed his PhD in microbial genetics at La Trobe University.
His PhD research explored the genomics of the bacterial endosymbiont Wolbachia in relation to neglected tropical diseases.
Haylo also has an interest in comms and marketing, and believes science isn't finished until it is accessible and communicated to the wider public. As a passion project, Haylo also co-runs Nerd Nite Melbourne, an event that takes place every 2 months and aims to make learning sociable and accessible.
