Manon Mercader Australian Society for Fish Biology Conference 2024

Manon Mercader

I am from the Mediterranean coast of Southern France, where I completed most of my academic training at the Université de Perpignan, including my PhD, which focused on the ecological restoration of shallow nursery habitats for coastal fish. My primary research interest lies in understanding how environmental factors shape fish distribution and their interactions with human activities, and the resulting conservation challenges. For the past four years, I have been a postdoctoral researcher at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST). There, I’ve been challenged to explore new fields including behavior, physiology and evolutionary biology. The project I will present at the conference reflects this exciting interdisciplinary journey.
