Iva Prikrylova
Dr Iva Prikrylova is a Senior Researcher at the Department of Biodiversity, University of Limpopo. She received her PhD in 2008 at Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic. Dr. Prikrylova is a specialist in the taxonomy and phylogenetics of monogenean parasites of fish with an interest in freshwater systems. She has authored several descriptions of new genera and species of monogeneans. Currently, her research focuses on the problem of parasites of ornamental fish being imported into South Africa and exploring the parasite diversity of native fish from Africa under the concept of their conservation. She is enthusiastic about her work and loves sharing her experiences and expertise with students and colleagues.
