Yoel Jeremy
PhD Candidate from the University of New South Wales researching the application of fish behavioural insights in the engineering of a novel siphon fishway technology. Member of the Centre for Ecosystem Science at the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences; and the Tube Fishway Project at UNSW Water Research Laboratory with research interest in adaptive management of aquatic species and resources through integration of biological knowledge. Holder of the University International Postgraduate Award (UIPA) from UNSW for international candidates involved in high-impact research projects, and recipient of the Best Presentation Awards at the Water@UNSW Symposium 2024 and the 2023 Centre for Ecosystem Science Research Forum. Outside the scope of my PhD, I'm the primary caretaker of the four display tanks at UNSW BEES teaching labs, for which I received the title of 'fish-whisperer'.
